Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing, a Kubota Company, is offering a 2027 Summer Intern – Test Engineer internship in Salina, KS. Interns will work on-site from mid-May to early-August, earning $20 per hour and a 4-day work week schedule (Mon-Thurs, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.).

Housing is provided for those living outside Salina area. Interns will complete a project under a mentor in Test Engineering, contributing to the design and manufacturing of agricultural or construction equipment, with potential travel

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Ag Systems or other relevant Engineering major.
• Willingness to live within commuting distance of the assigned location, typically Salina or Abilene, KS area for the duration of the Summer.
• Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week) during the Summer.
• Pre-employment physical and drug screening within a week of first day.
• Proof of identity and work authorization in the United States (I-9).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to the Salina area.

Responsibilities

• Work on a project in Test Engineering related to design and manufacturing of equipment.
• Collaborate with a mentor and peers to apply college knowledge in the workplace.
• Contribute to activities and events with other interns and employees.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Agricultural Systems or related Engineering

Willingness to live within commuting distance

Team player with good communication

Self-motivated with strong planning

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
