Job summary

The Meadows Psychiatric Center, part of Universal Health Services, Inc., seeks a Staffing Specialist/Scheduling Coordinator to manage daily nursing staffing and scheduling in a full-time on-site role near State College, PA. You will work with CNO and Nursing Managers to fill shifts, monitor ratios, and generate staffing reports.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, 2+ years in staffing/scheduling in hospital settings, and experience with scheduling software (UKG).

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent; human services degree preferred.
• Two years of staffing/scheduling experience in a hospital setting or with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience creating and maintaining staff schedules.
• Experience with UKG or other scheduling applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CNO, Nursing Managers, and Supervisors to ensure appropriate nursing staffing daily.
• Anticipate vacancies, fill shifts, and monitor staffing against census and acuity.
• Minimize overtime by effective scheduling and planning.
• Prepare nursing staffing schedules and daily staffing reports.
• Maintain schedule records and communicate changes to relevant units.
