Job summary

The Meadows Psychiatric Center, part of Universal Health Services, Inc., is seeking a Staffing Specialist/Scheduling Coordinator on-site in Central Pennsylvania. This 40-hour/week role supports the CNO, Nursing Managers, and Supervisors to ensure adequate staffing for nursing units and multi-disciplinary teams.

You will forecast vacancies, minimize overtime, prepare schedules, generate daily staffing reports, and maintain admissible shift records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years staffing/scheduling experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience creating and maintaining staff schedules.
• Experience with UKG or similar scheduling applications.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal communication and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily nursing staffing to meet patient ratios.
• Look ahead to fill vacant shifts and monitor census and acuity.
• Prepare nursing staffing schedules and generate daily reports.
• Maintain schedules and shift records as required by licensing agencies.
• Communicate staffing changes to CNO and ICN.
• Respond to crisis calls and assist milieu management.
