Job summary

Optivolt is seeking a Solar Field Deployment Engineer to own end-to-end field deployments, from lab concepts to on-site installation and validation. You will lead testing, instrumentation, and debugging of pilot deployments for datacenter and utility solar projects, shaping field playbooks and performance metrics.

You will collaborate with engineers and partners, ensuring safety and adherence to specs while driving data-driven improvements and scalable deployment processes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on engineering and hardware deployment experience.
• Experience leading field operations, pilot deployments, or technical projects.
• Strong background in power electronics or electrical engineering.
• Ability to diagnose hardware, software, or site issues without a manual.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders in startup environments.

Responsibilities

• Own on-site deployment for pilot deployments including installation and commissioning.
• Prototype, instrument, and stress-test designs under real operating conditions.
• Collaborate with utility solar developers on site design and integration.
• Perform root-cause analysis on field issues and drive design improvements.
• Develop field playbooks, docs, and testing protocols for scale.
• Test, benchmark, and automate monitoring across the deployment lifecycle.
