Job summary

Optivolt in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to own the architecture and development of our software platform, spanning web apps, backend services, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and device connectivity.

You will lead a hands-on team, shape technical direction, ensure reliability and performance, mentor engineers, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, and field teams to bring solar intelligence to customers.

Qualifications

5+ years building and shipping production software
Technical leadership from architecture to deployment
Experience hiring, mentoring, and establishing engineering practices
Strong system design, relational databases, cloud infrastructure, testing, and security; TS, React, Python or Ruby
Clear communication, ownership, and ability to work independently in a startup

Responsibilities

Lead software engineering at Optivolt and shape technical direction
Own delivery across the stack from concept to production
Build exceptional installer and customer experiences including monitoring and troubleshooting
Develop hardware-software connections with firmware teams and device telemetry
Set engineering standards for architecture, code review, testing, security and deployment
Scale the platform as deployments grow and improve data quality and observability
Lead production troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Support pilots and new product launches
Build and mentor the software team and collaborate with leadership
