Job summary

Longenecker & Associates (L&A), a Geosyntec Company, seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead on-site engineering efforts at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. The role focuses on design management, construction support, and ensuring security and infrastructure integrity for critical DOE facilities.

Responsibilities include coordinating multidisciplinary design interfaces, managing change processes, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget, while mentoring junior staff

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of project engineering experience focused on commercial infrastructure/high-security facilities (government-adjacent).
• Hands-on experience with ProjectSight or equivalent (project management), Delta cost tracking, Aproove or equivalent (proofing/design review).
• Excellent attention to detail in layout compliance, document control, and communication under tight deadlines.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site project engineering efforts for large-scale infrastructure and security-oriented projects.
• Serve as technical liaison between management, design teams, security engineers, and construction management.
• Manage engineering changes, RFIs, design revisions, and field-change evaluations from the job site.
• Coordinate interfaces across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and security subsystems.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure design outputs meet code, safety, and security requirements.
