Job summary

Strategic Management Solutions, LLC (SMSI) seeks a Senior Project Engineer to work on-site at Los Alamos National Laboratory, leading engineering for large-scale infrastructure and security projects. You will be the technical backbone translating designs into hardened facilities, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and construction management to deliver on schedule and within budget.

The role requires DOE Q clearance, US citizenship, and a Bachelor’s in a related engineering field.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of project engineering experience in infrastructure, high-security, or government-adjacent facilities.
• Experience leading design and construction across lifecycle stages: design, turnover, and closeout.
• Experience with on-site project execution and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead/integrate engineering design across civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and security subsystems.
• Manage on-site construction activities, RFIs, submittals, and field changes.
• Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and facility operations to meet security and project goals.
