Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Payroll Specialist V to manage payroll for about 1,200 employees across multiple states from our Reno, NV campus. This on-site role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, maintains payroll records, and resolves issues for internal and external stakeholders.

You will work independently on complex assignments, drive process improvements, and coordinate with HR, Finance, and Benefits to ensure timely, accurate payroll and year-end tax

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing.
• Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and tax compliance.
• Experience with ADP or Workday payroll systems.
• Strong Excel skills with large datasets.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• CPP designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly and off-cycle payrolls from start to finish.
• Ensure payroll compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate payroll changes with HR, Finance, and Benefits.
• Resolve employee payroll inquiries and support audits.
• Prepare year-end tax documents, including W-2s, and maintain payroll records.
• Lead process improvement, automation, and standardization initiatives.
