Job summary

Recology is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Sparks, NV, with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days in the office. You will oversee weekly and biweekly multi-state payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities include processing garnishments, timekeeping integration, vendor submissions, month-end tasks, PTO accruals, and supporting tax reporting and W-2s. Candidates should have at least two years of payroll experience, a high school diploma, and knowledge of payroll

Qualifications

• Two years of related payroll processing experience including experience running and creating query reports.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• FPC or CPP certification desired.
• Knowledge of payroll systems (JD Edwards, SAP, PeopleSoft, etc.).
• Timekeeping programs (TimeClock Plus, Kronos) and interfacing with external payroll processing vendors.

Responsibilities

• Processes weekly and biweekly multi-state payroll, including garnishments, deductions and taxes.
• Processes manual check requests for terminations and payroll adjustments.
• Reviews hours for accuracy before importing to the HRIS (JD Edwards).
• Submits payroll file weekly to vendor for processing on time.
• Prepares payroll related analyses for management.
• Researches payroll problems and resolves discrepancies.
• Answers payroll inquiries from payroll coordinators or corporate employees.
• Performs data entry for direct deposit and tax elections.
• Provides monthly reports for managers.
• Supports month end tasks.
• Assists with PTO and payroll accrual processes.
• Supports tax reporting and payment of withholdings and W-2s.
• Processes wage garnishment orders and sets up deductions.
