Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in East London, Eastern Cape, to appoint a Financial Manager who will oversee financial planning, accounting operations and drive strategy.

The role requires a CA(SA)/CIMA/ACCA qualification or equivalent, a Bachelor's in accounting or finance, and at least 5 years of financial leadership experience. It is an on-site position with strong career development prospects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA) is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management or accounting.
• Proficiency in Sage and QuickBooks Enterprise; advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of South African accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the manufacturing sector is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, GL, and payroll.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop and manage budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor financial performance against targets and provide variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Manage cash flow and treasury functions.
• Lead and mentor the finance team.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
