Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant for an on-site role in East London, Eastern Cape. You will manage the general ledger, prepare financial statements, and support month-end close with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and 3+ years of experience, with SAP/Pastel and advanced Excel skills. A professional designation (ACCA/CIMA/CA(SA)) is highly desirable. Relocation to East London may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or CA(SA)) highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial accounting.
• Proficiency with SAP and Pastel; advanced Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of entries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Support external audits with documentation and explanations.
• Identify and implement process improvements in accounting.
• Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
