Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and 3+ years of experience, with SAP/Pastel and advanced Excel skills. A professional designation (ACCA/CIMA/CA(SA)) is highly desirable. Relocation to East London may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial accounting.
• Proficiency with SAP and Pastel; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of entries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Support external audits with documentation and explanations.
• Identify and implement process improvements in accounting.
• Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their team in East London, Eastern Cape . This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and reporting. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing the general ledger, preparing financial statements, and supporting the month-end close process. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and a proactive approach to financial management.
