Placements24 is seeking a Financial Manager to lead the finance department and drive strategic financial performance. The role is in-office in Welkom, South Africa, reporting to senior management and shaping the company’s financial direction.

You will oversee planning, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, with a focus on controls and cash flow optimization while mentoring the finance team. A strong background in manufacturing is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master's degree or professional qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA) is required.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and South African corporate law.
• Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinking and strong business acumen.
• Experience in the manufacturing sector is a significant advantage.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the finance department, including accounting, payroll, and treasury functions.
• Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies and business plans.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Conduct in‑depth financial analysis, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
• Ensure robust internal controls are in place and effectively maintained.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and optimize financial resources.
• Liaise with banks, investors, and other financial institutions.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and develop the finance team to foster a high-performance culture.
