Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company seeks a Senior Controls Engineer for our McCalla, ALUncrustables facility. This on-site role supports power and control systems, maintenance, and reliability targets, with focus on data validation and MES integration.

You will design control strategies, develop HMI screens, and lead commissioning for new equipment while collaborating with plant leadership to reduce downtime and improve safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required or equivalent experience.
• 4 years of relevant controls experience.
• 5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Controls system experience with Allen Bradley or Siemens.

Responsibilities

• Serve as administrator and troubleshooter for plant power and control systems.
• Collaborate with site Technical Manager to maintain sustainable processes and onboarding.
• Ensure compliance with local and national regulator codes and safe practices.
• Validate PLC data into MES systems and support data analysis.
• Develop control strategies, HMI screens, and KPI dashboards.
• Train others on control systems and participate in capital projects.
