Job summary

Transwestern is seeking a Chief Engineer in Baltimore, MD to oversee the efficient operation of all building systems, lead a high-performing engineering team, and ensure compliance with codes and client expectations. This on-site role requires hands-on management of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.

The Chief Engineer will train staff, supervise daily activities, and implement a proactive maintenance program to minimize downtime and maximize asset value for our clients.

Qualifications

• Trade school training with 10+ years in building operations.
• 7+ years in commercial building maintenance with supervisory experience.
• Appropriate license/permit such as Journeyman/Master Electrician or Refrigeration License.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff and handle hiring/training.
• Review daily work orders and assign tasks as needed.
• Monitor recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Regional Director to meet engineering goals.
• Oversee inspections to ensure client spaces are in prime condition.
• Develop and enact a preventive maintenance program.
