Job summary

Indiana Spine Group is actively seeking an experienced payroll accountant to join our accounting team. This role handles end-to-end payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations for multiple entities within a healthcare setting.

You will ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance in all payroll processes. Responsibilities include benefiting deductions, year-end reporting, and collaboration with the controller.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required.
• 5-7 years of accounting experience with payroll processing preferred.
• Familiar with accounting and payroll software; knowledge of tax law/payroll regulations is essential.
• Healthcare industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain highest level of confidentiality in payroll and HR data.
• Post journal entries, update financial statements, and perform reconciliations.
• Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time for multiple entities; include wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
• Maintain payroll records, tax exemptions, and wage changes; assist employees with payroll inquiries.
• Reconcile benefits deductions and record in payroll system and GL; record payroll entries in GL.
• Prepare and submit retirement/401k reports; assist with audits and census data for 3rd party calculations.
• Collaborate with staff accountant and controller; train as backup as needed.
• Evaluate and optimize payroll system processes; support year-end tasks and Form W-2 distributions.
• Assist with 401k and workers' comp audits; gather information for audits.
• Handle additional accounting and HR tasks as directed.
