Job summary

Discovery Senior Living seeks a Senior Accountant, Payroll to manage payroll accounting across 450 communities and 25,000+ team members. You will reconcile payroll liabilities, post journal entries in Yardi 8, and support month-end close while ensuring GAAP compliance.

The role starts remote and transitions to onsite in Dallas three days per week, collaborating with Finance and HR to optimize payroll processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with payroll, labor cost accounting in a high-volume multi-entity environment.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality with large hourly workforce preferred.
• Proficiency in Yardi 8; Paychex experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills including reconciliations and multi-entity data management.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll accounting and general ledger recording for all entities.
• Reconcile payroll clearing accounts, accrued wages, and payroll tax liabilities monthly.
• Manage month-end close for payroll components and produce labor metrics and cost analyses.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain payroll accounting policies and controls.
• Collaborate with Payroll Operations, HR, and IT on system configurations and integrations.
