Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking a School Operations Manager to lead campus-wide operations on-site at a PK3-8 campus in Washington, DC. The role reports to the Campus Director of Operations and works with the Information & Operations team to keep daily operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, at least 3 years of relevant work experience, and strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• School-wide Systems: ensure all operations run seamlessly; oversee food service, manage staff/vendors, meal tracking, compliance, and delivery; own logistics for off-site field trips and on-site events; manage end-of-year assessment logistics.
• Finance: manage school budget; establish purchasing systems; lead opening/startup processes and procure furniture/equipment; coordinate with regional Finance teams.
• Facilities & Maintenance: oversee facilities issues, manage staff/vendors, aesthetics, and safety; conduct facilities walkthroughs with custodial/regional teams.
• School Operations Leadership: implement vision with Campus Director of Operations; participate in strategic planning; serve as secondary HQ contact.
• Safety: support emergency drills and staff training; assist during safety crises; help develop arrival/dismissal procedures.
