Job summary

KIPP DC seeks a Director of Safety Operations to lead safety systems across campuses and the central office. You will oversee planning, vendor management, and compliance, ensuring operations meet best practices and are executed with fidelity.

The role requires collaboration with school leaders and the operations team, with on-site work four days a week and a starting salary range of $113,839–$125,821.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• At least 6 years in safety planning, security management, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years leading teams in safety or operations

Responsibilities

• Safety Planning and Procedures: develop and implement safety and security goals for all campuses.
• Training and Compliance: design training and SOPs, ensure regulatory compliance.
• Vendor and Equipment Management: manage external vendors and deploy safety tech by coordinating with facilities/tech teams.
• Collaboration and Support: work with academic/mental health teams to integrate safety into school culture.
• Budget and procurement: manage safety budget and serve as requisitioner for Regional Safety Team.
• Emergency preparedness: oversee drills and emergency response protocols.
