Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist - Data Center to support the Project Team in developing and sustaining an Incident and Injury Free Culture (IIFC) on-site at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The role focuses on ensuring compliance with safety regulations and helping leadership maintain a strong safety roadmap. Ideal candidates have OSHA 30 Construction, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to coach crews and conduct safety trainings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 30 Construction required; CPR/FA Certified; STS/STSC preferred.
• 0-2 years construction safety experience; electrical safety experience preferred.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluation of the effectiveness of safety programs through daily field walks and log observations.
• Support the Safety team in executing project-specific corrective action plans.
• Provide feedback to Safety leadership on safety improvements and recognition.
• Assist with coaching employees on unsafe behaviors and recognizing safe behaviors.
• Assist with job site safety orientations for new employees joining the project.
• Assist with basic safety training (HazCom, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tag-out).
• Support incident investigations and facilitate injury/illness cases.
• Raise potential compliance risks to Safety leadership.
• Attend assigned safety meetings daily and evaluate participation and effectiveness.
• Evaluate whether Foreman and Superintendents follow the safety program elements.
