Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist for a Data Center project. The role requires working on-site at the Cedar Rapids project location with travel flexibility as needed.

Salary is shown as hourly range and alignment with federal, state, and local safety regulations will be essential. The successful candidate will support the Project Team in sustaining an Incident and Injury Free Culture, assist with site safety trainings, investigations, and daily safety meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 30 Construction certification required.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (trainer).
• STS and STSC certifications preferred where applicable.
• 0–2 years of construction safety experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of safety programs through daily field walks and log observations in the leading indicator system.
• Support project-specific corrective action plans to address safety issues.
• Provide feedback to Safety leadership on areas for improvement and recognition.
• Assist with safety coaching and recognition of safe behaviors.
• Assist with job-site safety orientations for new employees.
• Assist with basic safety training (HazCom, Fall Protection, LOTO, etc.).
• Support incident investigations and escalation of compliance risks.
• Attend daily safety meetings and assist in evaluating participation and effectiveness.
