Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road is seeking an experienced Safety Manager for a San Antonio, TX project. You will support the Safety Director by implementing safety reviews on job sites and ensuring a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment.

Responsibilities include developing JHA and safety plans, delivering training, investigating incidents, leading safety meetings, and mentoring 1-2 safety professionals. A Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health and 5 years of construction safety experience are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health or related field.
• 5+ years of construction safety experience on heavy civil projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• CHST/CSHO/ASP/CSP certification preferred and OSHA 500 preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish desirable.

Responsibilities

• Examine project settings for safety performance and client processes.
• Develop and review JHA and safety execution plans for subcontractors.
• Develop safety training; ensure records are well documented and filed.
• Conduct incident investigations and lead safety meetings.
• Monitor effectiveness of training and site safety practices.
• Coordinate with owner representatives and management on safety issues.
