Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road is seeking a Safety Manager for a San Antonio, TX project to support the Safety Director by overseeing safety on site and ensuring a safe, healthful workplace. You will lead safety training, develop JHA and safety plans, and manage hazard assessments for a major civil project.

Responsibilities include conducting site safety meetings, coordinating with field staff, and maintaining training records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience on heavy civil projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Examine project settings from work performed and client operations.
• Manage preconstruction and bid safety process.
• Develop and review project JHA and safety execution plans for subcontractors.
• Identify hazards and devise methods to eliminate/control exposures.
• Develop, prepare, and conduct safety training as needed.
• Monitor effectiveness of training and maintain records.
• Lead project site safety meetings and conduct daily site assessments.
• Coordinate with owner representative and field personnel; report incidents.
