Job summary

Sowela in Chilton, Wisconsin seeks a Safety Coordinator to help keep employees safe in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This on-site, full-time role will lead new hire safety orientation, coordinate training, and ensure adherence to corporate safety policies.

You will collect safety data, report to the corporate safety department, and support safety activities across the facility while acting as the main contact for safety issues.

Qualifications

• 1+ year safety experience in manufacturing setting.
• Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry rules; ISO 45001 familiarity is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a 24/7 facility, including weekend work.
• Strong written and verbal communication across all levels of management.
• Organized and detail-oriented with solid computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead new hire safety orientation and training (on-site).
• Collect safety-related data and submit reports to corporate safety.
• Support coordination of safety activities across the facility.
• Act as the point of contact for safety-related issues as they arise.
• Help ensure compliance with applicable regulatory laws and standards.
• Ensure safety and housekeeping inspections are completed on schedule.
• Coordinate with workers' compensation coordinators as needed.
• Participate in and lead safety focus teams as assigned.
