Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a dedicated youth services professional to perform shelter and crisis intakes, orient youth to policies, and supervise daily activities. You will monitor safety, assist with hygiene, meals, and recreational activities, and provide crisis intervention as needed.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent experience, a valid Utah driver’s license, and the ability to pass drug and background checks.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience in youth counseling or group homes.
• Ability to pass mandatory drug testing and background checks.
• Valid Utah driver’s license required for transporting youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide structured, stable environment for children in care.
• Supervise daily living activities and personal hygiene.
• Monitor safety and respond to crisis situations.
• Document information in client records and manage medications.
• Coordinate with staff, clinicians, and partners to meet medical needs.
• Interact professionally with families and community partners.
• Transport youth to community locations and follow up on referrals.
