Job summary

Salt Lake City School District Horizonte Instruction Center in Salt Lake City, Utah is hiring a Campus Safety Coordinator – Level 2 to safeguard students, staff and the campus. The role functions as a first responder in emergencies and supports safety initiatives under the principal's direction.

The CSC-2 helps implement the School Guardian Program requirements, provides concealed and armed protection as assigned, and fosters a secure, conducive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Obtain a valid concealed carry permit within three months of start date.
• Complete an initial “fit to carry” assessment with the district and maintain compliance with mental health screening requirements.
• Fingerprinted and pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first responder in emergencies and assist with safety measures.
• Implement requirements of the School Guardian Program (Utah Code 53-22-105).
• Provide concealed and armed protection as assigned while not acting in a law enforcement capacity.
• Promote a positive safety-focused learning climate and report pertinent information to school administrators.
