Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking an ESH Coordinator to support Layton Construction project teams in Austin, TX, ensuring effective implementation of environmental, safety, and health standards at site level.

You will monitor safety conditions, assist with investigations, conduct site orientations, support training, and participate in safety committees, contributing to a safe, compliant construction environment. This role requires a BA/BS and OSHA 30-hour training, with STS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with at least one year of construction or health and safety experience.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour training for construction AND Safety Trained Supervisor (STS).
• Demonstrates good interpersonal relations, maintains effective relationships with others.
• Has good verbal communication skills: Expresses self clearly and effectively when talking with individuals and groups.
• Has good written communication skills: Expresses ideas clearly in writing. Uses proper organization and grammar.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety conditions and enforce OSHA and Layton standards and policies.
• Assist ESH Manager to investigate accidents and serious near misses, collecting initial data relevant to the investigation.
• Monitor workers compensation issues on Layton projects and report timely information.
• Conduct site-specific safety orientations for project teams.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings highlighting safety needs and issues.
• Assist with injury management to ensure cost effective medical care.
• Conduct industrial hygiene surveys as necessary to detect gases and noise.
