Job summary

MRO Corporation is seeking an ROI Specialist to support client sites in processing Release of Information requests for patient records. You will determine records to release, review requestor data, and log activities in the ROI On-Line system while complying with HIPAA guidelines.

The role requires accurate data entry, strong communication with callers and walk-in customers, and dependable performance to meet production goals. Prior ROI experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires prior data-entry experience and ability to use standard computer applications.
• Ability to work independently and meet production goals as directed by MRO.
• Strong verbal communication skills; capable of handling inquiries from customers.
• Attention to detail is essential for accurate record processing.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability in a fast-paced environment.
• HIPAA knowledge is preferred; knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determines records to be released by reviewing requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and obtaining pertinent patient data from various sources.
• Answer phone calls concerning ROI issues.
• Respond to walk-in customers requesting medical records and log information in ROI On-Line database.
• Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis and fax information as needed.
• Log medical record requests into ROI On-Line database.
• Scan medical records into ROI On-Line database.
• Comply with site facility policies and regulations.
• Handle and record cash payments for requests at specified sites (where applicable).
• Other duties as assigned.
