Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a field inspector for our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group. You will inspect traffic control, environmental controls, layout and materials on highway projects at various locations, reporting findings and ensuring compliance.

Required are a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and 2 years of related experience. Certification in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete may be required by the client. Travel up to 40% will be common.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ACI/NICET or similar certs may be required by client.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 2 years of related experience; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review daily contractor reports and QC procedures for conformance with plans.
• May perform sampling and in-place testing of soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt.
