Job summary

CDM Smith's Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group seeks a Field Inspector to monitor project sites nationwide, including roadway, bridges, drainage, erosion, and traffic. You will work on-site at multiple locations under supervision to ensure conformance to plans and specifications.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, 6 years of related experience, valid driver's license, and relevant certifications; travel 20–40% may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete if required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performing complex and routine inspections of construction to evaluate material and process conformity.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under supervision appropriate to assignment knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for construction inspection.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
