Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an On-site Field Inspector to join our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection team. The role offers opportunities to work at various project locations and directly impact project success through inspection of traffic control, environmental controls, and construction methods.

Candidates should have a High School diploma, valid driver’s license, and at least 2 years of related experience; certifications such as ACI or NICET are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review and assess contractor day‑to‑day work, QA procedures, and material testing per approved plans.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to contract; measure quantities and may perform sampling/testing.
