Job summary
Hitachi Energy seeks a Field Service Engineer to perform complex field service operations, install, maintain, and repair power equipment on-site or remotely. You will troubleshoot issues, anticipate customer needs, and identify opportunities for improvements while traveling within the US, Canada, and Mexico.
The role requires strong mechanical/electrical skills, 5+ years of field service experience, and a current US driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes.
- Trade education and experience in Industrial Mechanic and Electrical trades.
- College or university diploma/degree in a technical field (electrical or mechanical engineering) is an asset.
- Over 5 years of experience in technical field service work with power/mechanical equipment.
- Hands-on experience with substation construction, high voltage equipment, and electrical testing.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and test equipment software.
- Current driver's license valid in the US and ability to work in the US.
- Ability to travel to the US, Canada, and Mexico.
- Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

- Perform complex field service operations with strong technical skills.
- Deliver outstanding services remotely or on-site, including installation, maintenance, and repairs.
- Exceed customer expectations by understanding and anticipating their needs.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and proactively prevent issues.
- Identify and resolve electrical or mechanical problems with minimal assistance.
- Develop potential sales and business opportunities through customer knowledge.
- Suggest product and process improvements to enhance operations.
- Lead field service projects and provide direction and analysis.
