Job summary

Alpha School seeks a Reading Teacher to join our on-site team at a campus listed above. You will guide K-3 students through daily reading goals, diagnose gaps, and implement targeted literacy interventions using app-based learning and structured literacy strategies.

You will spend about 70% of your day guiding students through core learning and 30% in targeted sessions, with relocation support and a nationwide recruitment approach that keeps students at the center of every decision.

Qualifications

• On-site at a campus listed above with relocation support.
• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in related settings.
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training or master’s in reading/literacy.
• Bachelor's degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required.
• 70% of day guiding students through app-based learning and campus routines; 30% on targeted reading sessions.
• Willing to work with all K-3 students; legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning and spotting gaps.
• Running targeted 2–4 student literacy sessions with a designed sequence.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities.
• Driving weekly app goals with school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, closing, and reading interventions.
