Job summary

Tectonic Engineering Consultants, Geologists & Land Surveyors, DPC is seeking an experienced Project Estimator for rail transit initiatives in Forest Hills, NY. The full-time role focuses on creating cost estimates, budgets, and cost analytics for design-build and construction efforts.

Responsibilities include site visits, presenting budgets to the client and PM team, reviewing payment schedules, and preparing change-order estimates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of rail transit estimating or project controls experience.
• BS in Construction Management or Engineering preferred; HS diploma required.
• Strong ability to read specifications and communicate with clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Create cost estimates and budgets for design-build and construction efforts.
• Perform project site visits to build and update estimates and budgets.
• Develop and present budgets, projections, and cost analytics to client/PM team.
• Review baseline contractor payment schedules and breakdowns.
• Create independent estimates for change orders/additional work orders.
• Review contractor proposals and prepare cost comparison documents.
• Assist in change order negotiations and cost guidance.
• Attend project meetings and perform related duties as assigned.
