Job summary

WSP is seeking a highly experienced Resident Engineer for our Indianapolis, IN office, overseeing the South Bend Rail Realignment Project. You will provide day-to-day field supervision of rail, civil, and utility work, coordinating with NICTD, the contractor, and design teams to ensure safety, schedule, and budget compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in construction management, inspection, or engineering on major projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
• Experience as Resident Engineer, Construction Manager, or similar leadership role on transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time on-site oversight of rail, civil, structural, utility, roadway, and drainage improvements.
• Act as on-site representative for administration of construction contracts and change orders.
• Coordinate daily activities among contractor, design team, utilities, and stakeholders.
• Lead progress meetings, maintain project records, and manage safety and quality compliance.
• Support coordination of railroad activities, outages, and operational constraints.
