Job summary

WSP seeks a Resident Engineer for the Indianapolis, IN office, overseeing the South Bend Rail Realignment Project. You will serve as the on-site representative, ensuring safety, schedule, cost control, and contract compliance while coordinating with the contractor, NICTD, utilities, and regulators.

The role covers rail civil work, bridge and drainage improvements, track coordination, and related civil tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing on-site construction activities in rail/ civil projects.
• Ability to administer contracts, review plans and specs.
• Strong focus on safety, QA/QC, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time, on-site oversight of all construction activities across disciplines.
• Act as the authorized on-site representative for contract administration.
• Interpret and enforce contract plans, specs, standards, permits, and regs.
• Coordinate daily activities among contractor, design team, utilities and stakeholders.
• Lead meetings, prepare agendas/minutes, and track actions.
• Maintain daily reports, correspondence, field docs, and photos.
