Job summary

Silfex Inc., A Lam Research Company, in Springfield, OH, seeks a Quality Engineer to apply measurement science for designing and improving IM&TE systems and processes. You will lead root cause analyses, drive corrective actions, and partner with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline, engineering preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a combination of experience, certification and education may be considered.
• Familiarity with metrology equipment for root cause diagnostics (CMM, VCMM, Component gages, laser, optical measurement).
• Experience solving measurement problems related to dimensional, process or transactional issues; DOE and Six Sigma knowledge.
• Solid understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading; strong statistics for process control and improvement.
• Ability to lead change, manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team.
• ASQ certifications in Quality Engineering, Six Sigma or calibration are valued.

Responsibilities

• Apply measurement science to design and develop inspection systems and procedures.
• Lead root cause and corrective actions for internal and external quality issues.
• Develop and implement corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Establish dimensional control and capability at NPI and through the product life cycle.
• Leverage inspection equipment (CMMs, VCMMs, Contracers, laser) for metrology.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S within work cells to improve metrics.
