Job summary

Silfex Inc., a Lam Research Company, is seeking an experienced Metrology Engineer to design and implement measurement systems for electrical, optical, and mechanical inspection. You will analyze measurement needs, develop new methods, and recommend calibration standards to meet evolving business requirements.

Responsibilities include leading root cause analysis, establishing dimensional control at NPI, leveraging CMMs and laser equipment, and training inspectors on GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline; in lieu of degree, combined experience/certification considered.
• Familiarity with metrology equipment for root cause diagnostics (CMM, VCMM, gages, laser).
• Gage and inspection knowledge; experience solving measurement problems.
• Proficient in data analysis techniques including DOE and Six Sigma; strong statistics knowledge.
• Understanding of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
• Ability to lead change and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop measurement techniques for new and existing products.
• Support Quality Engineering in root cause and corrective action for quality issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
• Establish dimensional control and capability in new product introductions.
• Utilize inspection tools (CMMs, VCMMs, laser) to characterize processes.
• Assist in evaluating and improving process performance via measurement science.
• Create inspector certification standards and GD&T training per ASME Y14.5.
• Provide engineering support for measurement equipment calibration and repair.
