Job summary

Yates Construction seeks a Quality Control Specialist – Civil & Structural for a Federal project at Fort Hood, TX. The role ensures civil and structural work meets contract requirements, designs, and federal standards on-site.

The QC Specialist works with the QC Manager, conducts the three phases of control, reviews plans, and documents inspections. A PE license (TX) or equivalent civil engineering credentials are required with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate civil engineer or construction manager with PE registration in Texas.
• 2 years civil construction experience on similar projects OR 5 years as a technician.
• Experience with civil and structural QC on federal projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as QC Specialist for civil and structural work as defined by the project’s QC Plan.
• Be on site daily to perform QC activities and support the QC Manager.
• Perform the three phases of control: Preparatory Phase Meetings, Initial Phase Inspections, Follow-Up Inspections.
• Review plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Document inspections, deficiencies, and corrective actions as part of quality oversight.
• Participate in QC meetings with project stakeholders.
• Ensure each definable feature of work meets government acceptance criteria.
• Assist with training events, QC documentation, and government inspections.
