Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited institution by time of hire.
• Current Commonwealth of Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant license by time of hire.
• Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 1-3 year’s experience preferable.

Responsibilities

• Implements comprehensive individual and group treatment independently.
• Follows through with established treatment priorities based on the physical therapist’s evaluation results.
• Documents actual intervention and patient response to treatment and progress toward goals.
• Collaborates with the PT for re-evaluation and changes to the treatment plan.
• Complies with department policies; completes documentation accurately and timely.
• Educates patients and caregivers on home programs and equipment use.
• Coordinates with the rehabilitation team and participates in department meetings.
• Provides learning opportunities for affiliating PTA students.
