Job summary

RCHDC is seeking an Off Site Property Manager to organize day-to-day operations of an apartment complex and verify compliance with government regulations. The role requires living on-site; a two-bedroom apartment and utilities are provided as compensation.

Responsibilities include reviewing applications, turning around vacancies quickly, coordinating rent processing, and maintaining records for audits and lenders. Training and community activities are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Must have good writing and math skills.
• Must be well organized and thorough.
• Must be able to work and make decisions without supervision.
• Familiarity with landlord/tenant law helpful.
• Obtain USDA Rural Development Manager Certification within six months (employer-paid).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel and Word proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Review tenant applications for eligibility; maintain waiting lists; show units.
• Process eligible applicants per program guidelines (TCAC, HOME, HUD, USDA).
• Ensure move-in files are complete and orderly.
• Attend trainings as needed and may require overnight stays.
• Walk property twice daily to monitor appearance and presence.
