Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Resident Project Representative II in Texas to lead field oversight on multidisciplinary construction projects within HDR's Building Engineering Services Group. The role focuses on ensuring quality, safety, and code compliance while coordinating with owners, contractors, and AHJs.

The ideal candidate will read and interpret drawings, supervise inspectors, manage records, and maintain strong client relationships across complex facilities projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience.
• A minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
• Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in a team environment.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture; sponsorship for US employment is not available.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts.
• Review accurate daily records of the inspector's daily activities and the work performed, and ensure compliance with building code.
• Attend and/or chair progress meetings with the contractor, owners representatives and clients.
• Conduct observations of the installation and acceptance testing of completed equipment and systems.
• Identify nonconforming work, develop project punchlists and maintain until corrected.
• Develop record documentation for engineer review/acceptance.
• Work under general supervision of a Project Manager.
• Supervise and direct the activities of administrative staff and Construction Inspectors, and subconsultants.
