Job summary

Scarsella Bros., Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Port of Seattle project group.

Primary responsibilities include review, preparation and management of submittals, RFIs, and document management, with field support to crews. Qualified applicants typically have 2+ years of construction field experience and an undergraduate degree in civil engineering or construction management; ability to read plans and coordinate field operations is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction field experience
• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related
• Ability to travel and relocate as needed
• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities

Responsibilities

• Review, preparation and management of submittals, RFIs, and document management
• Assist interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews
• Perform quantity calculations and takeoffs from drawings and specs
• Assist in work plans, schedules and field layout
• Assist in field surveying and data compilation
• Assist in daily reporting, RFIs and project correspondence
• Support safety reviews, toolbox talks and site meetings
• Coordinate material deliveries and on-site scheduling
• Supervise field operations and subcontractor activities
• Assist project management with data for submittals and transmittals
• Prepare purchase orders and subcontracts as needed
• Assist in cost tracking and change orders
• Provide field support and vendor coordination
