Job summary

Amperesand is seeking a Production Operations Supervisor in Reno to lead prototype-to-production builds and directly supervise the production associate team. This hands-on role requires assigning work, resolving issues in real time, ensuring schedules and quality standards, and approving timecards and labor hours.

You will train staff on complex manufacturing and power electronics assembly. You will influence product readiness, customer confidence, and the pace at which solid-state transformer

Qualifications

• 4+ years in manufacturing/production operations
• At least 2 years in hands-on supervisory/lead role
• Experience managing labor, timekeeping, overtime, and shift coverage
• Practical experience applying quality requirements and standardized processes
• Experience delivering on-the-job training and coaching production teams
• Strong communication and real-time feedback abilities
• Ability to track performance and maintain reports or dashboards
• Commitment to safety and EHS best practices

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise production associates on prototype-to-production builds on the shop floor.
• Own day-to-day floor operations ensuring safety, quality, and productivity; escalate issues as needed.
• Review and approve timecards, labor hours, and overtime to support planning.
• Uphold quality standards and collaborate with engineering on issue resolution.
• Deliver on-the-job training and coaching for new and existing staff.
• Maintain standardized work instructions and SOPs with engineering/ops.
• Monitor production metrics and drive continuous improvement across throughput, yield, safety, and cost.
• Create production reports and dashboards for leadership visibility.
• Foster a positive, accountable shop-floor culture and handle performance feedback and discipline when necessary.
