Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners in Wyomissing, PA is seeking a Patient Access Specialist (PRN) to support admissions at Tower - Reading Hospital. This entry-level opportunity offers on-site work with flexible PRN shifts and a starting hourly pay between $17.00 and $18.15, depending on experience.

You will perform admitting duties, collect insurance information, verify eligibility, and explain consent forms while delivering compassionate customer service.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
• High School Diploma/GED Required

Responsibilities

• Patient Access staff are responsible for assigning accurate MRNs, completing medical necessity / compliance checks, providing proper patient instructions, collecting insurance information, receiving, and processing physician orders, and utilizing an overlay tool while providing excellent customer service as measured by Press Ganey.
• Operates the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as applicable.
• Adhere to policies and provide excellent customer service in interactions with appropriate compassion.
• Patient Access staff will be held accountable for point of service goals as assigned.
• Patient Access staff are responsible for the utilization of quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure accounts are corrected.
• Conducts audits of accounts and ensures forms are completed accurately and timely to meet audit standards.
• Patient Access Staff are responsible for the pre-registration of patient accounts prior to patient visits including inbound/outbound calls to collect demographics, insurance, and patient financial liabilities.
• Explain general consent for treatment forms, obtain signatures, and distribute patient education documents.
• Review eligibility responses and enter benefit data to support POS and billing processes for clean claim rate.
• Screening of medical necessity using ABN software to inform Medicare patients of potential non-payment and distribution of ABN as appropriate.
