Job summary

Maersk is seeking an Associate People Partner to serve as the front-line HR presence for the Hesperia, CA location. You will partner with facility leaders, frontline staff, and union-represented employees to resolve people matters and ensure consistent policy application.

The role spans employee relations, performance management, leaves, compliance, onboarding and offboarding with on-site work to directly influence the colleague experience at Maersk facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
• Union experience preferred
• Bilingual Spanish required
• HR Certification (CPHR) desirable
• Experience with Workday, ADP, or HRIS
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Strong judgment and ability to handle sensitive matters

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first HR contact for employee matters at assigned locations
• Investigate employee issues and recommend next steps
• Ensure wage and hour compliance under state and federal laws
• Support policy rollout and departmental objectives
• Manage performance management processes and corrective actions
• Coach managers on employee-related issues
• Collaborate with leaders on headcount and staffing
• Help develop and implement HR policies and procedures
• Assist with termination paperwork and offboarding
• Represent the company in unemployment, wage/hour, and EEOC hearings
• Support harassment prevention and training programs
• Audit data integrity and prepare HR reports
• Keep organization charts current
• Advise on interpretation of policies and laws
• Handle strategic tasks as needed
