Job summary

Maersk is seeking an Associate People Partner in Hesperia, CA (Onsite) to support employee relations and a broad HR function across frontline operations. You will work closely with leaders to ensure compliant, positive employee experiences and partner on performance management and workforce planning.

Ideal candidates will bring HR experience with unions, bilingual in Spanish, and familiarity with Workday/ADP. The role offers hands-on HR support in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
• Bilingual in Spanish is required.
• Previous HR experience supporting employee relations and frontline employees.
• Union experience is required, with the ability to effectively support unionized employee populations.
• Knowledge of Workday, ADP, or similar HRIS is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of employment law, performance management practices, workplace investigations, and HR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for employee-related matters including employee relations concerns, leaves of absence, attendance issues, onboarding, disciplinary actions, workplace investigations, injuries, and terminations.
• Conduct employee investigations, gather witness statements, document findings, and provide recommendations for appropriate next steps.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour regulations and workplace posting requirements.
• Partner with managers to administer performance management processes, including corrective actions and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
• Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and people management best practices.
• Assist with workforce planning efforts, headcount management, temporary staffing needs, and organizational changes.
• Support HR audits, reporting, training initiatives, offboarding activities, unemployment claims, EEOC matters, and organizational chart maintenance.
