Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Systems - Payloads Field Service or Senior Principal Engineer Systems - Payloads Field Service. This on-site role in Mayport, FL requires full-time, on-site work with no remote option.

Travel up to 25% and a 6+ month training period in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA are included. Duties include real time support for flight ops, coordinating maintenance, and leading technical analysis across payloads and communications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s with 3 years; OR PhD with 1 year.
• Must be able to obtain DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+CE, CCNP, CISSP) within a reasonable time.
• Must have DoD security clearance or able to obtain it (Secret/Top Secret/SCI/SAP).
• Must be able to travel up to 25% and complete training in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

• Provide real time support to flight operations and maintenance, resolving payload and MFAS issues.
• Coordinate with site leadership and ensure Maintenance Action Forms are in place.
• Lead communication with DAC, MOBs, and REs on complex technical issues.
• Support air crew engagement and trend analysis for engineers.
• Attain expertise across all supported sensor and communications systems.
