Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems seeks a Sr. Principal Embedded Payload Electronics Engineer to join our San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA or Palmdale, CA team in the Avionics Integration Organization. The role is on-site with up to 25% travel.

Primary duties include payload system integration, requirements management, and technical leadership across the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate holds a STEM degree with extensive relevant experience and is proficient with DOORS/Cameo/Magicdraw

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s with 6 years; OR PhD with 4 years.
• Experience integrating payload systems and leading requirements management.
• Familiarity with DOORS, MBSE tools and model-based systems engineering.

Responsibilities

• Requirements management, system integration, test plan development and test execution for payload systems.
• Develop specifications, interfaces, schedules, and lead design reviews.
• Configure RF/network testbeds and document results.
• Support configuration management and lab readiness; produce technical reports.
