Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN. You will assist with activities of daily living and help plan care, while communicating with the health care team and patients’ families.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification; phlebotomy training may be required for Emergency Department positions. Virtua offers a comprehensive benefits package and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assisting with mobility and transport.
• Documents changes in patient status and communicates with RN/LPN.
• Reinforces education of patient and family/responsible party regarding care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
